I went on January 1 to have my first workout of the year!
Excited!
But kind sick at my stomach.
Think stomach bug... not hangover.
I barely could hold down my oatmeal from that morning.
I went anyway.
After all I wanted to start my NEW YEAR off the right way.
My trainer had me do the 1st round in the leg circuit.
Squats with weight
Jumping squats
Lunges with weight
Deadlifts
2nd round
Squats.. okay getting a little winded
Jumping squats.... heart begins to really pound
Lunges... I still have a handle on this workout
Deadlifts... I can for sure keep going
3rd round
Squats... sweat begins to pour off of my face
Jumping squats... umm okay not feeling so great
Lunges... oh no, am I gonna fall over
Deadlifts... crap! can I go another round?
K: "Are you okay? Maybe we should skip this last round"
Me: "No. No, really I'm not giving up!"
4th round
Squats... Come on come on just get through this last round
Jumping squats... oh crap I can't catch my breath. I need to sit.
Lunges... I can' see straight any more.
Deadlift... I'm about to pass out. I have to quite.
I had to quite our workout early. My stomach was churning, I couldn't breath, my heart was about to pound out of my chest, and sweat was just pouring!
It was the strangest experience. I never have stomach bug type issues so I don't know what it's like to workout with it.
Not good.
Not good at all.
I felt like a complete and total failure!
K assured me that there is a difference between giving up and taking care of yourself.
We will start back on Monday and that will be my regular day to train with her.
I only go once a week but I really enjoy it.
But from now on... if I feel like I'm about to fall over and not get back up I will certainly stop until my body feels up to it!!
Don't feel like you've failed!! Your health comes first....your workout routine will be waiting when you're feeling better. Hope you feel better soon!
